There are many exciting projects in the plans for Greensburg and Kiowa County. The City Business Incubator building is taking shape and should be complete in January, 2009. The County has begun work on the courthouse. The new streetscape for downtown is scheduled to begin this winter.
The Greensburg State Bank building and the PrairiePointe Townhomes are complete and occupied. Dwane Shank Motors building should be completed this winter. All of these are building to "green" standards. Very energy efficient buildings. The John Deere dealership is building a LEED certified building and has two windmills already in place.
The School is going to be breaking ground in October, and will be an amazing example for education design - very green.
The hospital will be breaking ground in October.
Other projects that are looking for partners to fill the funding gaps are the BIG Well Museum, The Kiowa County Commons (library, historic museum, media center and extension office.

Many people have asked about the 1,000 pound Brenham Meteorite that was in the Big Well Museum. It is on loan to another museum in Kansas and will return to Greensburg when the Big Well Museum is complete.
